Has an antiseptic, astringent and anti – inflammatory action. Can assist in tightening up the proteins in the skin and across the surface of abrasions. As a decoction is useful for inflamed and tender skin, increases resistance to infection and promotes healing. Mainly used where the skin has not been significantly broken. Is great chilled and applied to the face after cleansing and before moisturising.
