The Pink Trumpet tree is a very ornamental tree that has beautiful, pink, trumpet-shaped flowers with ruffled petals. It is an upright tree with a narrow, pyramidal form and it is used as a specimen tree, a flowering trees, a street tree and as a hedge. It is evergreen or semi-evergreen and it has a long blooming season. It flowers in the spring and summer and plants often have a few Flower clusters on it throughout the year. The leaves are palmately compound with 5-7 glossy, dark green leaflets. The light-colored flowers are followed by long, slender pods that are filled with winged seeds. The Pink Trumpet Tree is widely grown in in gardens and parks in the tropics and subtropics. It is often cultivated in coastal areas because it is salt and drought tolerant and wind resistant. The pale pink flowers look nice against the deep green leaves and it flowers long after most tabebuias have already finished blooming. It has tough, strong, light brown or golden wood.
