Phytolacca americana Root slice

A curious North American perennial, Pokeweed is a slightly unpleasant smelling perennial, grown for its foliage and unusual looking hanging fruits.Its red stems and its green foliage, oval to lance shaped to around 30 cm, make it stand out. Its flowers small are white to pink, followed by unusual dark fruits, which often hang down from the plant.
