This tree looks beautiful when the seeds hang down in pendulous clumps with a hint of purple.

Some times this is called the Box elder or ashleaf maple.

Medium to large tree.

Rapid grower

They can make an unusual screen or windbreak.

Good for heavy clay soils or waterside planting.

Good also in lighter drier areas.

Suitable for a street tree or driveway.
